This is definitely Facebook Parenting 101.

Disgruntled father Tommy Jordan had had enough. When Tommy found out that his daughter left a post on her Facebook wall for everyone but her father could see, it was time for a humbling lesson. And one which was a very public one – as the gun totting, IT professional professed at the beginning of the video, “Since you want to hide it from everyone, I’m going to share it with everybody.” And boy is the video setting the internet on fire!

What started this fiasco? Jordan’s 15-year old daughter apparently wrote a Facebook post complaining about the chores she has to do at home. A post which she quite liberally embellished by both her account and with curse words. Her dad of course, was unaware of that post – until that is, he found out about it.

Taking exception to the post her father made a video to set things straight. In his video titled ‘Facebook Parenting: For the troubled teen’, her father is talking in the camera and first reads the entire post that his daughter wrote on her Facebook. He also adds that the video is not just for his daughter but “more importantly for all her friends on Facebook who thought that her little rebellious post was cute, and for all you parents out there who think your, you know, kids don’t post bad things on Facebook.”

The teenager also wanted to be paid for the chores she had to perform every day. The ire of the dad at this point is quite visible who tells the camera that other than doing her laundry, a few household chores and making her own bed – she’s had it quite easy. And we agree.

The video has since gone viral.

That isn’t all though. The thoroughly disgruntled father in his bid to teach the daughter, who was warned quite a few times and grounded earlier, then calmly proceeds to shoot the laptop. The same laptop on which he spent, just a day earlier, around 6 hours and more than $130 fixing.

In the YouTube description, Jordan writes, ‘Maybe a few kids can take something away from this… If you’re so disrespectful to your parents and yourself as to post this kind of thing on Facebook, you’re deserving of some tough love. Today, my daughter is getting a dose of tough love.’

Raising teenagers has always been difficult, but it seems nowadays it’s harder than ever. But in our opinion, this dad, is a total WIN!
