Queen Of Pop Madonna Set To Rock UAE In June 2012

Even for someone as seasoned as Madonna – this is a coup. The 53 year old is touring this summer and one of her stops includes the bustling metropolis of Abu Dhabi in the Emirates. In what will be her first concert in the United Arab Emirates, the Queen of Pop is going to set the city of Abu Dhabi on fire with the help of Flash Entertainment.

No doubt getting Madonna to perform in Abu Dhabi is a big deal – and the event organizers Flash Entertainment are not unaware of the fact. With 22,000 tickets up for grabs, the least of which are  Dh250 ‘limited quantity’ ones, they’re definitely aware of the hype a Madonna concert has created in the Emirates. And of course, they expect the entire concert to be a sold out one.

The 53 year old entertainer is famous as the ‘Material Girl’ all over the world. With more than 300 million records sold worldwide, Madonna is a household name around the world. Her recent Super Bowl 2012 halftime performance was watched by a whopping 113million audiences live! She is not just one of the 25 most powerful women of the past century, but is also the world’s top selling female recording artist of all times and has throughout her career courted not just public adoration, love and success which has translated to sold-out shows, but she has also stirred enough controversy to keep her act fresh and new. Madonna has influenced generations of artists with her music abilities – and of course for putting on a show like no other. Artists like Beyonce, Britney Spears and Lady Gaga and others openly cite Madge as the person who has influenced most of their musical careers.

So how does this bode for the city of Abu Dhabi? Surely getting to promote and host a Madonna concert is a big deal for not just Flash Entertainment but also for the bustling and developing city of Abu Dhabi. Although Madonna isn’t the only big name to perform in Abu Dhabi at the Yas. In 2011, the Yas Arena welcomed more than half a million to see performers of artists like Aerosmith, Shakira, Beyonce, Paul McCartney, Eric Clapton, Stevie Wonder, Britney Spears, Metallica, Janet Jackson, Coldplay and Amr Diab among others.

And for all this, Madonna is expected to receive around $15 million. Yep, $15 million for just one single performance making this one of the most lucrative contract of her career. The figure is this big because there are a huge number of funds available from private promoters in Dubai and because of her contract with Live Nation. There are also rumors circulating that the Queen of Pop will play for a private party, first of her career, for an astonishing figure of $10million.

So June 3rd 2012 is going to be a big day for music buffs in the Emirates. The tickets for the Madonna concert go on sale at midday UAE time on February 27 from thinkflash.ae. Already twitter is abuzz about the biggest concert of the year, and since its Madonna – no one is even thinking about being disappointed.

Tell us if you’re going to the concert and what your favorite Madonna songs are!
