The 2012 Consumer Electronics Show was the hotspot for all things tech! From gadgets to futuristic devices that had never been seen before, the CES 2012 was a roaring success. With smartphones, tablets and TVs, all other electronic gadgets and even cars, at the event – here are our top 10 favorite items from CES 2012.
1. LG 55-inch OLED TV

With just 4mm in thickness, the LG 55-inch OLED TV will be out in the market in October 2012. Brighter colors, better contrast and energy efficient, the LG 55-inch OLED is priced at $10,000 when it launches in Australia this October.
2. Samsung 55-inch Super OLED TV

The Samsung 55-inch Super OLED TV is thinner than ever at 7.6mm. With its rich, deep blacks, supersaturated color and sharp pictures, the Samsung 55-inch OLED TV comes with an internet connection for Smart TV, 3D functionality and a built-in camera to enable gesture controls! Priced at about $8,000 it releases at the end of 2012.
3. HP Spectre Laptop

HP Spectre laptop is a 14-inch screen weighing in at about 3.79 pounds. With Gorrilla Glass top, screen and a hand-rest – the laptop looks like a gigantic iPhone. The HP Spectre comes with either Intel Core i3 or i5 and with one or two solid-state drives. Priced at $1,400 the HP Spectre Laptop is out in the market in February 2012.
4. Motorola MOTOACTV

With the best Bluetooth gadget of CES firmly in Motorola MOTOACTV’s pocket (no pun intended!) – the fitness gadget does its work wirelessly. At 4.6cm square, MOTOACTV tracks exercise and can be worn as either an armband or a wristband to track speed, pace, heart rate. MOTOACTV can also act as an MP3 player with a twist – as it records which songs you best exercise on. It is currently available only in the US.
5. Cadillac CUE

Still in its testing phase, Cadillac CUE takes computerized car infotainment to a completely new level. 3D GPS navigation, Doppler radar weather, custom apps, Bluetooth connectivity and OnStar – Cadillac Cue is pure perfection. Cadillac CUE is out in a few months, although the price tag remains a mystery.
6. 2013 Audi A8L W12

While CES is most certainly not a car show – the glossy collection of tech-y rides would have you believing otherwise. The long-wheelbase Audi A8 comes with a W12 engine and a hyper-premium feel – there are just 50 of them! With Poltrona Frau leather and olive ash wood inlays, each car is marked with Audi ‘special plates’. No release date on these yet, but if you want one, make sure you hurry and book!
7. Nokia LUMIA 900

With 4G mobile speeds, an expansive screen with a Windows system, 8-megapixel camera and 1.4GHz processer the new Nokia Lumia 900 was presented at the final CES keynote by Microsoft. The LUMIA 900 comes with 16GB of storage and a 4.3-inch AMOLED screen.
8. Swivl Personal Cameraman

Swivl is a robotic cameraman that very smart. Perfect for self recording and webcam use, Swivl can pan and tilt on its own – all the while keeping the object in the marker frame. With a built-in microphone, it also keeps the audio clear! With a price tag of $159, Swivl comes to the market in April 2012.
9. FUJIfILM X-PRO1

Fujifilm’s professional camera has a very retro outlook that comes with cutting-edge technology. The 16-megapixel camera feature comes with a hybrid electronic model that can display settings over the scene as well as automatically adjust the magnification to suit the attached lenses. The Fujifilm X-PRO1 comes with three lenses – 18mm, 35mm or 60mm and is out in the market in February 2012.
10. Project Fiona
Razer’s Project Fiona is a tablet that takes gaming to another level. The 10.1 inch tablet computer uses Windows 8 and Intel’s Ivy Bridge chip. Players are asked to grab the hold of two game controllers on either side of the touchscreen tablet – just like you would with a regular PC game. Out in the second half of 2012 Razer is to priced atless than $1000.
