$29 A Week For Food Stumps Gwyneth Paltrow

If she can't do it, then who can? Gwyneth Paltrow has accepted, and failed, the $29 a week food challenge.

Gwyneth Paltrow, Food Challenge, $29, SNAP

$29 is the chosen amount because that is all families on the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) have to spend on food each week.

The challenge was proposed by chef Mario Batali in an attempt to raise awareness and money for the New York City Food Bank.

Paltrow took it upon herself to attempt the challenge, but only lasted four days after she slipped and ate some chicken and licorice.

It was worth a try, but either way, Paltrow got to see what it is like for 47 million Americans out there who are trying the best they can to feed their families in a healthy way.

While there are many food programs out there, a lot of them don't give families access to the healthiest foods. SNAP is an attempt to encourage families to make healthy choices, however, sometimes that leaves families extremely lacking in proper nutrition.

It wouldn't hurt any of us to try this challenge, just to remember how grateful many of us are to eat what we want, when we want.

Especially Gwyneth Paltrow, who was supposedly seen at a dinner after this challenge that cost $85 a head.
