Anne Hathaway’s long locks are no more — but for good reason.

The “One Day” actress showed off a newly shorn head of hair in London Sunday, a move she reportedly made for her role as Fantine in the upcoming movie adaptation of “Les Miserables.”

Hathaway, 29, ducked out of nightclub The Box with fiance Adam Shulman and another female friend in the wee hours of the morning, attempting to cover her new haircut from photographers, according to People.

But hair isn’t the only thing Hathaway has had to lose for the iconic role.

The actress has reportedly been hard at work shedding pounds from her already gamine frame in order to accurately portray Fantine, a starving factory worker who is forced into prostitution for the sake of her child.

Addressing rumors that she is restricted to a 500 calories-a-day diet, however, her rep is dismissive.

“She is losing weight for the part, but not that much,” she told E! News. “Just enough for her to look more frail, as she is playing a dying prostitute.

“She is consuming more than 500 calories. (The tabloids) are making something of nothing, as usual.”
