Guitars and George Harrison fans are gently weeping -- but probably giggling a little -- to the news actual beetles just killed a tree dedicated to the Beatle.
Harrison's memorial tree in Los Angeles met an insect-y end 10 years after it was planted near the Griffith Observatory. Harrison died in Los Angeles in 2001. The tree planted in his memory was a simple monument to his love of gardening and his spirituality. An inscription read, "For the forest to be green, each tree must be green."
There's "Something" so deliciously fitting about beetles going after the Beatles. But fear not, Fab Four fans. The city plans to plant a new tree in Harrison's memory.
