One of the highlights of the Billboards Music Awards (BBMA) was Ricky Martin’s performance of ‘Vida,’ the theme song from the World Cup 2014 scheduled in Brazil.

Unlike many things from the 90’s Ricky Martin is not just a fond memory. He is still rocking and grooving and he rocked the BBMA with ‘Vida’ – the official Brazil Football World Cup 2014 song.

Not only that,  he also supported the abducted Nigerian girls by holding up a #BringBackOurGirls sign on the red carpet at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Ricky Martin drove the Las Vegas crowd crazy with his performance. With performances including Jennifer Lopez, Ariana Grande, Miley Cyrus, Robin Thicke, Lorde and John Legend, the night, hosted by Ludacris, rocked.

Miranda Lambert and Carrie Underwood also took to the stage to debut their new duet "Somethin' Bad".

Perhaps what stole the night from right under the audience’s feet was the intricately planned and choreographed holographic performance of Michael Jackson.

"We've been talking about it for the last five months and while we were talking about it they were still inventing the process," said BBMA director and producer Larry Klein. "It was really strange talking about something that did not exist."

Justin Timberlake ended up winning 7 trophies including Top Artist and Top Male Artist. Other winners included Imagine Dragons with five, and Pharrell, Robin Thicke and T.I. each scoring four apiece.
