Camila Alves And Matthew McConaughey: The Unlikeliest Of Couples

Who would’ve ever guessed it…David Wooderson is getting married. Sorry, sorry we’re getting all dazed and confused on you. Matthew McConaughey is engaged. Yep, that’s what we meant.

Bit hard to believe the latest news, though.

McConaughey seemed to be one of those stars who would stay in bachelorhood for his entire life. After all, he’s already in his 40s and has the abs of a 20-year-old and the personality of a teenager.

He’s been linked to mild drugs and heavy partying in the past, and he’s dated a number of Hollywood’s biggest actresses – from Sandra Bullock and Penelope Cruz to Ashley Judd and Kate Hudson.

When Camila Alves walked into his life, however, that all seemed to change. He met the Brazilian model in 2007 and quickly became a one-woman-man. He even had a couple children with her (son Levi, 3, and daughter Vida, who turns 2 in January).

The engagement is still a bit of a shock to us, considering he’s regarded as one of the most eligible bachelors on the planet and Camila Alves is somewhat unknown – at least in the northern hemisphere.

Perhaps we’re seeing that there’s more to Matthew McConaughey than we all thought.

Maybe it’s not all about looks and status for the 42-year-old actor. Maybe, deep down inside he’s just like the rest of us and cares about non-flashy benchmarks like love and family. Maybe he’s finally settling down and ditching his buff party-guy persona, for something a bit more domesticated and meaningful.

If only we could say the same about some of his peers.
