The black-and-white image shows a woman whose bone structure, eyebrows and full lips bear striking resemblance to his one-time girlfriend Rihanna. At the same time tattoo version bears scars and marks of a serious beating.

According to what one reporter said: "His tattoo is a sugar skull (associated with the Mexican celebration of the Day of the Dead) and a MAC cosmetics design he saw." "It is not Rihanna or an abused woman as erroneously reported." The reporter further added that the tattoo is currently peeling, making it look different from how Brown had initially imagined it.

Nonetheless, the tattoo serves as a reminder of the infamous night when Brown brutally assaulted Rihanna in 2009 after the Grammy Awards, causing her to be hospitalized with bruises all over her face.
