A lot of people chimed in with farewells to David Letterman in their own way. But when Conan O’Brien said, "We will not see a man of his talents and comedic integrity again in our lifetimes," he probably steals the show.
O'Brien laid himself bare and talked of how Letterman saved his hide when Conan started doing the Late Night Show.
Had it not been for Letterman, O'Brien says he would not have made it so far.
Then he ended his tribute by saying, “Here’s the plan for tonight – I have no illusions that anyone is watching me this evening. But if there happen to be a few of you out there – probably stoners – I’m gonna let you know the exact moment when Dave’s show is starting and I’d like you to switch over.”
As for why O'Brien would give up his audience to Letterman: "We will not see a man of his talents and comedic integrity again in our lifetimes."
