Country music singer Jake Owen and model Lacey Buchanan married in an intimate sunrise ceremony Monday morning.
According to People the couple met while filming Owen’s music video for “8 Second Right,” Lacey later appeared in his music video for “Barefoot Blue Jean Night;” they began dating shortly after filming the video.
The couple got engaged last month during one of his concerts in Florida. In fact, People reports the proposal was so spontaneous that Jake didn’t even have a ring yet. He later proposed again, on one knee, with a ring he personally designed.
The wedding took place in Jake’s hometown of Vero Beach, Fla. where is brother stood as his best man, and Lacey’s sister Leah was her maid of honor. The family-only affair was officiated by Jake’s uncle Ron Owen. The bride and groom said their vows on the beach, barefoot, as the sun rose over the ocean
Jake explains to People, “That was my idea, because it's symbolic of the dawn of a new day and starting our new life together.” He adds, “I’m looking forward to being a husband, someone his wife relies and leans on.”
Lacey commented on her new husband saying, “He gives me so much love, that it's the best place of my life, and having the commitment of marriage means everything."
