Even after decades of mainstream success, and millions of dollars earned, it seems Dave Matthews still isn’t above hitching a ride to make a show. Last week, two Dave Matthews’ fans got the thrill of their lives when they spotted Dave Matthews stranded on the side of a Pennsylvania road. Dave’s bike had broken down, and his cellphone couldn’t get signal (I guess you could his problem involved a…satellite). Dave Matthews waved down the duo – the two were already heading to his concert, because why else would young people be in Hershey Pennsylvania – and Dave asked the two for a ride.

In a twist that will leave millions speechless, Dave was super friendly to the two, and offered to hang out with them. The duo gained back-stage passes to the show, but declined Dave Matthews’ invitation to have dinner with him. Good call, people in the car who picked up Dave Matthews. I don’t care who it is, you don’t have dinner with a hitchhiker. Ever.

The duo have become minor celebrities after their encounter with Dave Matthews. It seems the two enjoyed meeting the singer, and find the whole story just as weird as the rest of America.

This story of charming Dave Matthews ride bumming with fans will forever serve as the Yang to the Ying tale of Dave dumping thousands of pounds of bus feces onto a cruise ship. With those stories balancing out, we all can go back to knowing Dave Matthews as he always wished to be – a tolerable singer with an excellent backup that gets a lot of play from frat-boys, valley-girls, and weddings involving frat-boys and valley-girls.
