Actor James Franco appeared on The Late Show with David Letterman. Not only did he talk about his characters in Oz: the Great and Powerful and Spring Breakers, but also got some really important information out on the show which the host revealed himself.

Franco and Letterman started off the show by talking about how well Oz is doing at the box office. They talked about “Alien”, Franco’s character in Spring Breakers, who is a drug-dealer and Selena Gomez who also appears in the same movie.

The conversation then shifted towards Harmony Korine, the director of Spring Breakers, and James Franco asked Letterman why Korine’s appearance on The Late Show was (mysteriously) cancelled. The host tried to dodge the question at first. He then asked Franco to tell him what he knew about the whole “situation”, to which the actor replied that Korine had told him that he was banned for pushing Meryl Streep backstage.

David Letterman then revealed his side of the story which was rather shocking:

I went upstairs to greet Meryl Streep and welcome her to the show, and I knock on the door... and she was not in there. And I looked around and she was not in there, and I found Harmony going through her purse.”

"True story. And so I said, 'That's it, put her things back in her bag and then get out.”
