Internet Loses Its Cool As Trump And Sanders Agree To Debate

The presumptive GOP nominee told Jimmy Kimmel that he’d be willing to debate his Democratic rival for charity. Sanders didn’t take long to answer.

Game on.

Billionaire business mogul and GOP presidential hopeful Donald Trump made a stop on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” Wednesday night and green-lighted a political event the world has been waiting on for quite some time now.

Trump was weighing in on the ongoing primary fight between Democratic presidential candidates Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders when Jimmy Kimmel asked if he had ever met the Vermont senator.

“I've never really had the privilege,” the real estate mogul replied.

The host then inquired if the White House hopeful would be willing to debate Sanders before the California primary since Clinton has declined. Trump being Trump, immediately accepted the challenge — but for a price.

“You would do it for a price?” Kimmel asked incredulously, to which his guest replied, “Yes, because if I debated him, we would have such high ratings. If he would pay a nice sum for some charity, I would love to do that.”

Sanders took to social media right away with his response:

#BernieTrumpDebate began trending shortly after and Twitterati seemed rather enthusiastic about the whole thing.

As of now, it is not clear if the debate will actually take place or if any charities would benefit from it. Although knowing Trump, one can only assume where the “charity money” would go.

Apart from issuing a challenge to Sanders, the business mogul also talked about his self-esteem and discussed the origins of the nicknames he uses for other politicians.

Bernie Sanders is set to appear on the late night show on Thursday.
