Seth MacFarlane series, ‘Family Guy’ is known for mocking pop culture and this time it has targeted HBO’s hit, ‘Girls’ in its new campaign Ad for Emmys.
The poster shows ’Peter, Brian, Quagmire, and Joe posing as Hannah, Marnie, Jessa, and Shoshanna from the first season poster of ‘Girls’.
The tagline reads, "Here's a load of comedy to shoot on your chest”, which is apparently referring to one of the most controversial and criticized scenes of Girls, in season 2 between Adam and Natalia!
Fox comedy, Family Guy has not been nominated in the Outstanding Comedy Series category since 2009, while "Girls" was nominated in 2012. Now, it remains to be seen if this controversial Ad will result in a trophy for “Family Guy” or not.
The full page Ad, paid by Twentieth Century Fox TV will appear in the June 21 issue of The Hollywood Reporter.
