In A Rare Moment Of Quiet, SNL Offers The Perfect David Bowie Tribute

Fred Armisen, who is no longer a cast member on the show, returned to "Saturday Night Live" to remember David Bowie.

This weekend's Saturday Night Live featured appearances by two very unexpected people: Fred Armisen and David Bowie.

Armisen is no longer a cast member on the show, but returned to Saturday Night Live to remember David Bowie. The audience seemed shocked, bursting into thunderous applause at the sight of Armisen.

Toward the end of the Adam Driver-hosted episode, the SNL alum appeared on the darkly lit stage to speak about the impact of the late musician, who died Jan. 10 after a battle with cancer.

He said nice words about his music idol and it was moving to hear Armisen's heartfelt tribute. Indeed, all week people have been talking about how Bowie changed their lives. The comedian then introduced a clip of the music icon's first SNL performance on Dec. 15, 1979.
