Beyonce signed off the year perfectly with a self-titled album, her fifth.. The release came as a surprise to fans without any warning two weeks into December.
Her fascinated fans were left wondering when she managed to cram in an entire album, considering her year was full of activities and events such as the president’s inauguration ball, the Super Bowl and the Mrs. Carter Tour.
She has dropped another bombshell in revealing that she recorded no less than 80 new songs for this album and chose her favorites. But she also adds that she recorded the album a year ago. How does she do it?
The album made sure Beyonce held onto the top spot on the U.S. Billboard 200 album chart for the second consecutive week as the year comes to an end.
‘Beyonce’ sold 991,000 copies in less than two weeks of its release, making it the year's 12th-best selling album, according to Billboard. It is expected to crack the top 10 in just a few weeks' time.
With this latest coup, it wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say that 2013 was Beyonce’s year.

How She Serenaded a Dying Fan During Her Tour
Beyoncé overwhelmed Taylon by serenading her during the “Mrs. Carter” world tour. The young girl and her family were provided a chance to see a performance in Las Vegas by Make a Wish Foundation. Already excited over the thought of watching her pop idol performing live, the little girl was blown away when Beyonce suddenly swooped right in front of her during the performance and gave her a warm hug, Together, they both sang an acapella version of “Love on Top” and later “Survivor”.
When She Went Christmas Shopping At Walmart
Beyoncé surprised Walmart holiday shoppers in Tewksbury, Massachusetts, when she paid a visit to the store and mingled with the shoppers before taking the loudspeaker and announcing that she would be paying for the first $50 of everyone’s holiday purchases.
That sent a cheer through the Walmart and the Diva, true to her word, rang up gift cards for 750 people, totaling to a grand $37,500.
