Geri Halliwell Confirms Russell Brand Romance: 'It's Been A Whirlwind'

Geri Halliwell has confirmed that she is dating comedian Russell Brand and described their romance, which began when the couple both performed at the Closing Ceremony of the London Olympic Games earlier this summer, as a “whirlwind” affair.

The 40 year-old, who reunited with the Spice Girls for the performance admitted that while they have got seriously quickly, she doesn't know if the comedian, who split wife of 14 months Katy Perry less than a year ago told The Metro: “Yes. It’s been a whirlwind.”

“Is he my ideal man? I’m choosy. I want someone who’s trustworthy, sweet and kind.”

Hmmm doesn't exactly sound like the controversial, womanising comedian too us.

Geri added: “All I want is to be in a loving relationship.”

Russ is known for his whirlwind romances, having got engaged to Katy Perry after just three months of dating and embarking on his relationship with Geri while he was reportedly still dating Hollywood talent agent Isabella Brewster.

But the whirlwind may have already have fizzled out as sources close to the couple claim they have cooled their fling because the 'Arthur' star was too intense for the laid back spicy, and perhaps a little too intellectual.

“Things are already cooling off,” a source told The Mirror. “Russell’s way into very intense spiritual readings that are just too much, even for Geri. He is way too intense, full stop.”

Speaking of their date last week, where Russell arrived with a stack of books, the insider added: “He turned up with Talking Heads... it went straight over Geri’s head.

“I don’t think she really fancies him, she’s just enjoying the ­attention. It will be yoga, sex and fizz, but it won’t last the distance. He’s off back to LA soon and she’s not planning on going with him.”
