This has to be the cutest and most adorable acceptance speech by a Golden globe winner. Andy Samberg had no idea he was going to win and when his name was announced, the actor was exhilarated and totally unprepared.
Samberg won Best Actor in a TV Comedy for his role as Jake Peralta in Fox's "Brooklyn Nine-Nine."
"Oh no! I didn't prepare anything! It wasn't going to happen," Samberg told the room when he took the stage to accept his prize. "You guys. The Globes, right? Who Knew?’ he gushed most endearingly.
He did a pretty good job of it actually- many well prepared speeches weren’t this good.
"I guess I'll just thank everyone. Thanks to Fox and [president] Kevin Reilly and Universal. And, you know, the guys that came up with the show, Mike [Schur] and Dan [Goor]. The cast is awesome. The crew, really good, can't forget them. The writers kick A. Everyone on my team," he said, half-parodying award show speeches. "And, no, I really do love them and respect them. And [Akiva Schaffer] and [Jorma Taccone from the Lonely Island] who I have done everything in my career with. And, of course my beautiful and incredible wife [musician] Joanna [Newsom], who I love so much."
He beat Jason Bateman for "Arrested Development", Don Cheadle for"House Of Lies", Jim Parsonsfor "The Big Bang Theory" and Michael J. Fox for "The Michael J. Fox Show" to the award.
