Hollywood actress Julianne Moore is honored with the 2,507th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame honoring a career that has garnered her four Oscar nominations.
Moore said it was her love of books that first inspired her to get into acting. The redh haired and green eyed beauty came to fame in 1985 as a star of the CBS daytime soap opera,"As the World Turns."
The daughter of a military judge and a Scottish social worker, Julianne Moore was born in Fayetteville, North Carolina on December 3, 1960. She has a Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A.) degree in acting from the School of the Performing Arts.
She received her first Oscar nomination in 1998 as best supporting actress for her portrayal of a porn star in "Boogie Nights," and in 2000 she earned a best actress nomination for "The End of the Affair."
In 2003, Moore became the ninth person to receive two acting nominations in the same year: a best actress nomination for "Far From Heaven" and a best supporting actress nomination for "The Hours."
She can next be seen in the re-make of the horror classic, "Carrie," due out October 18.
Not many people know that she is also a children's author. Her first book, Freckleface Strawberry, was published in October 2007 telling the story of a girl who wishes to be rid of her freckles but eventually accepts them.
