Hugh Jackmanwas greeted by huge crowds at the UK premiere of 'The Wolverine' in London.
The movie marks the second solo outing for the Marvel Comics superhero, although this is the sixth movie in which Jackman's character has appeared to date.
Set after the events of the third X-Men movie, 'X-Men: The Last Stand', the story is based on the 1982 comic books and follows Wolverine as he travels to Japan where he meets an old acquaintance and has his healing factor taken from him.
Jackman not only stars as the central role but is also acting as producer on the movie and admitted to being nervous about the all-important opening weekend.
"You know, yeah, you're nervous, excited, relieved. You know, it's been 13 years I've been thinking of making this movie - this particular one - and we've spent a long time making it and we've had a great director and a great cast, I feel it's all come together so now we hand over our baby to everyone else so fingers crossed, it goes well, man."
The Australian actor also admitted to putting long hours in at the gym to look the part of the superhero he plays.
"The Wolverine" begins its global release from July 24th.
