Bob Dylan fans don’t have to wait another half decade for the video of hit song ‘Like A Rolling Stone’. 48 years after the song was released, Bob Dylan has released an interactive video for ‘Like A Rolling Stone’ – the Dylan classic. The video also marks the release of The interactive video for Dylan’s classic ‘Like A Rolling Stone’ was just released as part of Dylan's 47-CD box set, The Complete Album Collection Volume 1, from Columbia/Legacy Recordings.
The video was produced by digital agency Interlude and is reminiscent of an old format TV where you can flip channels. The concept is fairly simple, which makes it that much more interactive. You can change the channels, flip through your TV but the characters on the screen will always be singing the lyrics to Dylan’s classic. One channel features Drew Carrey, while another channel shows telemarketers lip syncing the Dylan hit. As of right now, there are 15 channels available for you to flip through. Although, according to Interlude CEO Yoni Bloch, more channels would be added to the video eventually.
Dylan has always been pioneer when it comes to videos and this video though late, is no different. The format for an interactive video is something which more and more artists will be looking to explore because it’s different from the traditional videos. And though Bob Dylan’s video is almost 50 years too late, it’s worth the wait because it really is that good.
