In the kingdom of Late night TV there is no other King better than Jon Stewart – the straight talking ‘leftist’ host that he’s accused of being. Especially from hosts at the FOX network where he appeared last night on Bill O’Reilly’s The O'Reilly Factor.

Jon Stewart and Bill O'Reilly on FOX's The O'Reilly Factor

This isn’t the first time both Jon Stewart and Bill O’Reilly have gotten together on Factor. Stewart previously appeared on the Factor in 2004, at the height of the Presidential elections and last year in 2010. In between the gap he’d not only packed up silly jokes but massive amounts of street cred! With the Accepted Challenge, Jon Stewart sat firmly in position of the guest while Bill O’Reilly grilled him on all the issues people wanted to know his opinion on.

Day I of Accepted Challenge was aired two days ago and it was all about rapper Commons whose controversial appearance at the White House Poetry event raised hackles of the Republicans and the right wingers. Why was he invited at the White House by the President of the United States asks O’Reilly. With the Obama administration under strict scrutiny at inviting Commons, who in the words of O’Reilly wrote a song about "celebrating a cop-killer."

This was Stewart’s reply:

However, coming back to tonight’s episode of the Factor, Day II brought new questions for Jon Stewart – especially about the 2012 elections and President Obama. They discussed discussing the GOP’s presidential pretenders and assessed President Obama’s job performance.

Admirably, the Comic admitted that Obama hasn’t been able to live up to his expectations. He also added that if there were Republicans who were willing to take the country in the right direction – he would vote for them. This seemed to startle O’Reilly (as you can watch in the exchange below. Starts at 1:23).

However, Stewart wasn’t sold on any the Republican Presidential candidacy hopefuls. Some gems from the Stewart-O’Reilly Summit Day II include:

  • “[Newt Gingrich’s] his head is large enough that you imagine that there are great ideas in there, but it's so big it’s almost like they’re free-range ideas and I don’t know if he can actually herd them and gather them”
  • “[Sarah Palin] is too thin-skinned… and reminiscent much more of a television personality than a politician”
  • Mitt Romney looks like if you opened a box labeled President and pulled something out, it would look like Mitt Romney”

However it was Donald Trump who received the most scathing one liner from Jon Stewart:

  • “The man puts his name on everything he has, the only other people who do that are 6 year olds!”
