When Beck won the award for best album instead of Beyoncé at 57th Grammys, everyone just excepted a nice, normal acceptance speech. Then Kanye West jumped on stage.
For a second there, everyone – including Beck and his crew – expected another “Imma let you finish” moment, but as it turns out, it was just a scare.
Honestly though, Jay-Z seemed much more horrified than Beck did during the fake interruption.
Taylor Swift must’ve had an immediate flashback.
The musical gods tried to play it off as a big "haha, oh that Kanye" joke – but as it turns out, the man whose ego can barely fit into the stratosphere wasn't fooling around:
"I just know that the Grammys, if they want real artists to keep coming back, they need to stop playing with us. We ain’t gonna play with them no more. “Flawless,” Beyoncé video. And Beck needs to respect artistry and he should have given his award to Beyoncé and at this point, we tired of it. ... But y’all know what it meant when ‘Ye walked on the stage."
Yes, Kanye, we do. It means another insufferable moment is about to happen.
Beck won the Grammy for his album “Morning Phase.”
