Katy Perry may be known for her child-at-heart charisma, but that doesn’t mean she wants to have babies any time soon.
Us Weekly reports that a source close to her now ex-husband Russell Brand shared that for the former couple, who divorced 14 months after getting married last December, having babies was a source of conflict.
While Perry, 27, was more focused on her career, Brand, who is 10 years older, was ready to settle down with children. "He feels there's no point in being married if you don't have kids," the source told the magazine.
Back in January, another source told the Sunday Mirror, “"He wanted her to stay at home, do the whole Hollywood housewives thing. But that was never going to happen for Katy, she loves her singing career."
Recently, in her new documentary film, “Katy Perry: Part of Me,” the pop star gives further confirmation that the question of children took a toll on her marriage. In a scene backstage, she receives a text from Brand of a picture from McDonald’s, with the actor/comedian joking they should name their son “Ronald.”
Perry then expresses that she doesn’t want to have children just yet. "A baby can't have a baby -- and I'm still a baby," she says.
“Katy Perry: Part of Me” is now in theaters.
