Kerry Washington Plays Oprah, Beyonce & Michelle Obama In SNL Cold Open VIDEO

In the true spirit of Saturday Night Live, the producers of the show embraced the lack of diversity in the cast members as Kerry Washington took to the stage.

In the opening scene Washington mocked SNL's diversity controversy in the episode's cold open, in which she played Oprah, Beyoncé and Michelle Obama in one sketch.

The producers of SNL also added this message on the screen to get the point across:

"The producers of 'Saturday Night Live' would like to apologize to Kerry Washington for the number of black women she will be asked to play tonight...Ms. Washington is an actress of considerable range and talent and also because 'SNL' does not currently have a black woman in the cast. As for the latter reason, we agree this is not an ideal situation and look forward to rectifying it in the near future...unless, of course, we fall in love with another white guy first."
