Here’s What Kevin Hart Told The Black Actors Who Weren’t Nominated

The actor took his moment on stage to address the blazing lack of diversity in this year's acting categories… and did not hold back his feelings at all.

Kevin Hart is mostly known for his hilarious routines that sometimes warrant a bleep, but he showed the world he has a serious side at the 88th Academy Awards.

The comedian was expected to tear into #OscarsSoWhite controversy and address the lack of nominations for black actors during the Sunday night’s event. However, when he finally took the stage to announce a performance of “Earned It” by The Weeknd, he used the moment to turn the discussion about diversity into a surprising direction.

"I want to take a moment to applaud all of my actors and actresses of color tonight that didn’t get nominated tonight," Hart said to audience’s applause. "Tonight should not determine the hard work and effort you put into your craft. … These problems of today eventually become problems of the old. Let's not let this issue of diversity beat us."

He emphasized he’s a positive person and positivity beats negativity overall, pressing that hard work will help Hollywood overcome its hurdles. Unfortunately, towards the end of his inspiring commentary, the comedian was bleeped out. It appears he said "goddamn," which isn't allowed on television, but some conspiracy theorists are unsure if that’s what went down.

Meanwhile, with or without the bleep, Hart’s speech was one of the more inspiring moments of the night. In other words, Kevin Hart won the award for best #OscarsSoWhite moment of the night.
