Lady Gaga Responds To ‘Meaty’ And ‘Fat’ Criticism With Half-Naked Photos

Lady Gaga has posted pictures of herself brazenly captioned: "Bulimia and anorexia since I was 15," while wearing just a bra and panties on her social networking site, LittleMonsters.com.

It is indeed a very unrestricted and commercial response to the attacks on her weight. She is revealing herself, literally, to the whole world!

Last week some unflattering  pictures of Lady Gaga were published by various outlets and the critics slammed her by calling her "meaty" and accusing her of "piling on the pounds." These pictures did not reflect her real shape, were they photo shopped? This still remains a question but those who have compared the pictures with her performance videos might have noticed that she is by no means fat! Though she admits her 25lbs weight gain, recently.

Gaga responded by launching a new section on her website, Body Revolution, where she has posted her half naked pictures and wrote:

My mother and I created the BORN THIS WAY FOUNDATION for one reason: "to inspire bravery." This profile is an extension of that dream. Be brave and celebrate with us your "perceived flaws," as society tells us. May we make our flaws famous, and thus redefine the heinous.

She further added… “Now that the body revolution has begun, be brave and post a photo of you that celebrates your triumph over insecurities."

In the hours since Gaga issued the challenge to her fans, they've flooded her site with their stories and pictures. She also wrote boldly on her social networking site: But today I join the BODY REVOLUTION. To Inspire Bravery and BREED some m$therf*cking COMPASSION.

When she was lean and thin Lady Gaga hyped thinness "popstars don't eat" but now that she has put on some weight, she becomes symbol of a healthy body image?  One can’t help but think that a movement like this is plainly set to acquire attention and to avoid criticism.

You might believe that by publically announcing her new body and accepting it,  she has offset all those who were criticizing her. But to us it looks nothing more than a publicity stunt. Even if it is, this influential star with millions of followers has been successful in her attempt as her fans are supporting her, totally!
