Miley Cyrus starred on last Saturday’s Saturday Night Live. While the star went the entire show without twerking, Miley Cyrus still left SNL fans (and shameless “journalists”) with plenty to talk about!
Miley Cyrus serves as both the comedic and musical guest on Saturday Night Live and performed both original songs from her newest album Bangerz as well as hilarious parody songs related to the recent US Government shutdown. Saturday Night Live opened with a pre-made parody video titled We Did Stop which features Miley Cyrus as a sexy Michelle Bachman!
Miley Cyrus used the entire cold open to poke fun at her recent MTV Music awards “performance” as well as mock the Government shutdown which has dominated the news this past week. It was actually refreshing for Miley Cyrus and Saturday Night Live to cover these two major aspects early and together. This allowed Miley Cyrus and Saturday Night Live to tackle newer, fresher, and more interesting topics through the show.
Later in the show, Miley Cyrus debuted another parody song that is sure to be replayed throughout the next few months. The skit itself is merely an excuse to let Miley sing, but once she does, the new song is awesome.
For how wild and odd Miley Cyrus has behaved across the past few months, her appearance onSaturday Night Live was surprisingly reserved and structured; we liked it. It was nice to, for once, feel like we were laughing along with Miley Cyrus instead of at her.
