It is no secret that Miley Cyrus and Beyonce Knowles dominated most pop music headlines in 2013. From the former’s twerking and wrecking ball to the latter’s baby birth and unannounced album release, these two giants stood out from the rest of the bunch in the past 12 months.
So it is understandable how having both of them in a single piece of news could be mouthwatering for some people. And to have them feuding would be a gossiper’s dream. That fantasy nearly came true last night when a copy of Miley’s candid interview with an obscure British magazine “Love” got leaked online. Apparently, she wasn’t too kind to Queen Bey with her remarks. If those quotes are to be believed, the “Can’t Be Tamed” songstress dissed Mrs. Carter’s body as well as questioned her status in the music industry.
Her actual words were: “Beyonce has been a big inspiration to me but she’s been out for such a long time. She’s so talented and I think she’s at the top of the game now but people are always looking for new blood and that’s what I bring to the game now, new blood. I got the total package you know, the curves, the rhythm, and the voice. I’m just the best.
“As Beyonce grows in motherhood and all the crap it does to your body, it will create a vacuum for fresh young faces to rise up and no one else can properly fill that void right now. I’m the only white female singer that could fill that slot right now and do it right, you know? I’m just the total package, you know? All things must start and end and I hope to have the same success as other icons in the game when my run is over. But for now, my run is just starting.”
The proverbial guns had been loaded up to fire at Miley for these disparaging remarks before she came forward to distance herself from them. Check out her tweets:
That quote people MADE UP about Beyonce just made me lol! Imagine if I said I got "the looks and the curves I'm just better!" Bahahahhaha— Miley Ray Cyrus (@MileyCyrus) January 2, 2014
She promised to get her name cleared, and that’s exactly what she did. See this:
@MileyCyrus never said anything to us about Beyonce, the quotes were made up and we're trying to get to the bottom of where this came from— LOVE MAGAZINE (@THELOVEMAGAZINE) January 2, 2014
For the Mr. Quote Fabricator who wanted to stir the pot between these two stars, this was an EPIC FAIL!
