Most parents capture all wonderful and precious memories of their children in the form of photographs or by writing diaries, but the case of Angie Stevens is different from all. The mother has been drawing pictures of her 2-year-old son almost every day of his life. Now a mother of three, Angie has over 700 pictures of her son Gruff and her two other children Millie, 9 and Evie, 4.

The 38-year-old mother who also has a blog known as Doodlemum.com spends 20 minutes each evening to sketch a new picture of her children and the different type of activities that they go through every day. Interestingly, the sketches do not only feature her children but also their family’s cat Annie, rescue dog Bonnie four chickens and Gizmo the cockerel too.

According to Angie her sketching habit has become more of an obsession and now she does a picture after her children are gone to bed. ‘Most of the sketches are humorous, but sometimes it’s a way for me to deal with things happening in our lives, such as when Millie was bullied at school or Gruff moved into his own room.’

Even though a graduate in illustration Angie could only find time to start drawing after the birth of her first child, Millie. But after the birth of her child Gruff she suffered post-natal depression and struggled to get motivated again.

Since starting her blog in 2010 Angie has documented everything from breast feeding, potty training and weaning to beach trips, blustery walks and bullying and has now a huge following from all over the world.
