Oscar-winning director Peter Jackson live-blogged the last day of shooting on the sets of epic fantasy adventure film ‘The Hobbit’ which is a three-part film adaptation of the 1937 novel of the same name by J. R. R. Tolkien.

Jackson also directed ‘The Lord of the Rings’ trilogy more than a decade ago. Since The Hobbit is a prequel to LoR, there will not be any Middle Earth movies at all after the last installment of the The Hobbit. The fact can be a little depressing for all Tolkien and Jackson fans since they had to wait for more than ten years for The Hobbit movies to come out.

Therefore, in order to make the last day ever special and memorable for the fans and for himself, Peter Jackson live blogged the entire day on set of The Hobbit.

Jackson wrote, “Today is not exactly ‘average’, given it's our last day of shooting… So here goes ... I'll try to update as much as I can during the day. At least with a quick photo. Text will depend a little on how busy it gets.

So here are some photos from the awesome director. We hope that he would come up with even greater movies for us in future.

Good Luck and Thank You Peter Jackson. We love you!

... And we arrive home exhausted, to a house full of teenagers! It's going to be a long night!
