Keeping the Grammy tradition of mixing and matching alive, hip hop artist Pharrell Williams and country music star Brad Paisley joined forces to pay tribute to the legendary Beatles on Sunday.
Organized by the National Academy Of Recording Arts And Science (NARAS), "The Beatles: The Night That Changed America -- A Grammy Salute"was held to commemorate the 50-year anniversary of the world-renowned quartet’s US debut in 1964.
Pharrell and Brad delivered a mesmerizing rendition of The Beatles classic “Here Comes The Sun.”
Considering Pharrell’s limited vocal range – which stops at falsetto - the song selection was understandable, as it isthe easiest Beatles track to sing to. But it isn’t like “The Neptunes” man brought the duet down. In fact, it was quite the opposite. While Brad’s booming voice remained dominant, Pharrell still delivered a good performance.
The only downside to this unusual team’s remarkable performance was that Pharrell wore his stupid park ranger’s hat - again.
Yes, that’s the same brown hat that made him the butt of all jokes at the Grammys last month. At least this time, Cirque du Soleil performers were on hand to draw attention away from it.
People are saying Pharrell and Brad’s duet was the best performance of the night. Check out why in the video posted above. For the original Beatles tune, scroll down below:
