Piers Morgan has now received an official notice from the White House in response to the petition demanding his deportation for his ‘outspoken’ views on the gun control issue in America.
The petition on the White House website ‘We The People’ demanding the deportation of Piers Morgan was created on December 21. To get the official Obama Administration response, it passed the 25,000 signature threshold to an ultimate 100,000 signatures.
Morgan hosts ‘Piers Morgan Tonight’ on CNN, and called the executive of Gun Owners of America ‘a dangerous man’. According to the petition the talk show host is ‘engaged in a hostile attack on the U.S. Constitution by targeting the Second Amendment.’
In his interview, Morgan claims that he is a legal resident of America and whatever happens there affects him and he has the right to comment on it. He said that he has no regrets over calling the US gun lobby ‘stupid’.
He is strongly in favor of Obama’s gun control debate following the December Newtown School shooting.
A statement from the White House defending Morgan’s right of free speech was issued which was then tweeted on his twitter account.
