Maria Alyokhina and Nadezhda Tolokonnikova, two members of the Russian rebel music band Pussy Riot, were attacked while having breakfast at a local Mc Donalds. They were covered in green stains, bruises and acid burns.

The video above, released by Pussy Riot, shows six men wearing patriotic Russian symbols, shouting obscenities and eventually attacking the girls.

Pussy Riot became known when they were jailed for performing a protest song against Russian President Vladimir Putin in a Moscow cathedral. They were freed in December 2013 as part of a government amnesty.

They were detained again at Sochi Olympics for demonstrating against Putin’s regime.
