Compared to most celebrities, Rage Against the Machine’s guitarist, Tom Morello holds some political clout. Rage Against the Machine has a detailed history of polical involvement, and Tom Morello in particular has never shied away from letting his extreme political opinions know. Last night, TMZ shot video of Tom Morello speaking out in support of Edward Snowden.
In the video seen here, Morello speaks highly of Snowden regarding his actions against the US Government. Morello calls Snowden a “Hero”, and claims that Snowden should, “live a happy life in Ecuador” as a reward for the work he has done in exposing past NSA surveillance.
Morello then adds, "He exposed the crimes of the government. That we're all being spied on. all the time by the Obama administration? If anybody deserves to be in jail ... it's not Snowden."
Morello finishes his talks on Snowden by claiming that he would personally pay to fly Snowden to South America. As kind a gesture as that would be, acquiring flight money is the least of Edward Snowden’s worries right now.
