News is just coming out how the accident involving former Biggest Loser contestant Sam Poueu occurred last Saturday, September 3, in which the 25-year-old fell several stories from a San Francisco building. Poueu was apparently climbing down from the roof when the terrible fall took place. More on the news below.
Former Biggest Loser contestant Sam Poueu remains in critical condition after falling several stories from a building September 3 in San Francisco. Poueu is being treated at a San Francisco hospital for a pelvic injury, torn ligaments, a punctured lung and a broken leg and is conscious and making "positive and encouraging strides" in his recovery, according to fiancé Stephanie Anderson.
Anderson, a cast mate of Poueu’s on season 9 of Biggest Loser, told People.com that her fiancé fell because he got locked out on the roof of his friend’s apartment during a party.
While Poueu was celebrating a friend's birthday he when up to the roof by himself and the door locked behind him. Anderson says that Poueu then "attempted to climb down the fire escape ladder to drop down into the fourth floor balcony and slipped."
The reality star lost 142 pounds on the hit TV show, and eventually proposed to Anderson after they met on the the Biggest Loser ranch in 2009.
Anderson is confident he will make a full recovery, despite her future husband being in critical condition after the fall. "To date, many of his internal injuries are on the healing mend."
Another fellow Season 9-contestant, Ashley Johnston, has also been regularly updating Biggest Loser fans on Poueu’s condition via Facebook.
"Sam Poueu is making great improvements everyday! He is still in critical condition, but your prayers are being heard so please keep them coming! God is listening and Sam is fighting!” Johnston wrote recently.
