In case you missed it, Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone appeared on Saturday Night Live (SNL) this weekend.
During a sketch, the two, who are an off-screen couple as well, were trying to film a scene from their latest movie Amazing Spider-Man 2 where the superhero took Gwen Stacy on top of the Brooklyn Bridge for a special, romantic moment.
Despite the director’s loud and clear instructions, both the actors failed to perform the “perfect kiss” after several attempts.
In hopes of getting a better result, the enraged director played a scene of them kissing in the first movie. However that didn’t help either because the playback footage showed that stunt doubles were used for the kissing scene in the first installment of the Amazing Spider-Man series.
That’s when Coldplay’s Chris Martin offered to try to help with the scene. He asked for a wig and tried to recreate the special moment with Garfield.
Find out what happened next in the video above and do not miss the Variety review of the SNL-Amazing Spider-Man 2 towards the end. It’s hilarious.
The promotional tour of the superhero movie has been an exciting one, and the SNL sketch so far has been the best.
The Amazing Spider-Man 2, starring Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Jamie Foxx, Paul Giamatti, Dane DeHaan, Sally Field, and Chris Cooper, hit the screens on May 2.
