Selena Gomez Sparks Outrage With Mosque Photo

When in Arabia, don't show your ankle. Selena Gomez has recently sparked controversy after uploading a photo of herself in the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi.

The photo, which has been blasted as disrespectful, has Gomez exposing her ankle to the camera. This gesture violates the mosque's code of conduct for women, which also has several regulations in place for "intimate behavior."

In 2013, Rihanna was asked to leave the premises of a mosque by authorities who took offense to her photo shoot inside the mosque.

The pop star, who was in UAE for New Year, swiftly deleted the photo after facing backlash on social media. Another photo of Gomez and friends inside the mosque, which shows them having a grand time and showing even more ankle, has still not been taken down.

Justin Bieber's ex-belle did not however, allow this incident to affect her holiday spirit, as she continued to post photos of herself on Instagram
