Oh boy - some shade is being thrown at Iggy Azalea and she's throwing it right back!
Azealia Banks, a rapper, singer, and songwriter raised in Harlem, is calling out white artists who appropriate black culture and then fail to stand up for black issues and civil rights.
She's especially fired up about yesterday's grand jury decision not to indict the police officer who killed Eric Garner with an illegal chokehold. She threw some big-time twitter shade at Iggy Azalea:
its funny to see people Like Igloo Australia silent when these things happen... Black Culture is cool, but black issues sure aren't huh?— AZEALIA ?? BANKS (@AZEALIABANKS) December 4, 2014
Iggy Azalea, real name Amethyst Amelia Kelly, didn't take the slam lightly and answered back:
Theres more to sparking a change than trolling on social media. World issues shouldnt be used as a poor excuse to promote fan battles.— IGGY AZALEA (@IGGYAZALEA) December 4, 2014
She also tweeted a link to an article titled: 5 WAYS YOU CAN HELP FERGUSON, ITS PROTESTERS, AND MIKE BROWN'S FAMILY
Banks tweeted back:
"EVERYBODY WANNA BE BLACK, BUT DON'T NOBODY WANNA BE BLACK" - PAUL MOONEY
