Attention ‘Sherlock’ fans, in case you didn’t know, BBC One has released a mini-episode of ahead of the series’ return and – it goes without saying – you shouldn’t miss it.
The seven-minute episode – titled 'Many Happy Returns' – also serves as a prequel to the upcoming series which is set to premiere on New Year's Day in the U.K. and January 19 in the U.S.
Written by Mark Gatiss and and Steven Moffat, this long-expected Sherlock episode stars Martin Freeman as John Watson, Rupert Graves as DI Lestrade, Jonathan Aris as Anderson, and last but not the least Benedict Cumberbatch as Sherlock.
The minisode starts with Anderson, who – along with Sergeant Sally Donovan loathed Sherlock for his massive intellect – is convinced that the consulting detective is alive. He is (sort of) tracking down Sherlock’s movements and is sure that he is coming back to London.
Lestrade on the other hand isn’t. He thinks Anderson has lost his mind and leaves his colleague to his thoughts.
Later, he goes over to meet Dr. John Watson to deliver an old video message Sherlock had recorded for John’s birthday.
To find out what message Sherlock left for Watson and to watch the complete episode hit the play button on the video above.
