As expected, Saturday Night Live took on the second presidential debate, with Jay Pharoah as President Obama and Jason Sudeikis mimicking Republican challenger Mitt Romney. Unlike parody of the first presidential debate, President Obama wasn’t suffering from altitude sickness. “This isn’t Colorado anymore Governor,” Obama said energetically. “This is sea-level.”
Sudeikis as Romney was also in no mood to spare the President when he said that Obama’s $400,000 salary is what he pays his cats. "Why don’t you go sit down,” he said. “Before I beat you with my paycheck.”
Debate moderator, Candy Crowley played by Aidy Bryant, did her best to ensure both candidates do not end up physically assaulting each other. “Governor Romney, I want to remind you that threatening the life of the president is a federal crime punishable by up to 10 years imprisonment,” she said.
The entertainment doubled with Tom Hanks making a cameo appearance in the show to ask a truly thought-provoking question about Libya.
