Students Ask Mad Men’s Don Draper To Deliver Commencement Speech

So, Don Draper is being asked to speak at a graduation ceremony. No, we did not write it wrong. The graduating class from the Creative Circus Advertising School is not asking for Jon Hamm, no, sir. They are specifically requesting him to show in the Mad Men character Don Draper.

So, Don Draper is being asked to speak at a graduation ceremony.

No, we did not write it wrong. The graduating class from the Creative Circus Advertising School is not asking for Jon Hamm, no, sir. They are specifically requesting him to show in the Mad Men character Don Draper.

In a pitch, students are hoping the whiskey-drinking, chain-smoking creative director, or at least the actor who plays him, will give a rousing keynote speech.

And they’re serious. After a night of watching “Mad Men” while drinking (naturally), Deanna Director, David Ma and Mike Quattrocch created the “Grad Men” project. But to impress the mysterious ad exec, they had to do something big. So they traveled across the country to interview the creative directors from several agencies, who pitched Draper on their behalf. They created a video, titled “Dear Jon Hamm,” to raise awareness for their cause.

So what do you think, Don Draper, the commencement speaker? The creative directors want to lure Jon Hamm with a lot of digs at Don Draper. Susan Corbo of BBH says, ‘Come, speak to these kids… make them happy and you will get points in heaven. Because you probably need them!’

The students suggest Don simply remember not to smoke indoors. Watch the video of their pitch below. We think it might actually work!
