Playing a character with total conviction is every actor's dream. Every individual who faces the camera has the same desire, which is to portray the role assigned to him or her in a manner that mesmerizes the viewers and leads them into believing that the on-screen persona is for real.
But that cloak which the people have grown accustomed to seeing these actors in is temporary. Once the camera stops rolling, artists abandon their on-screen persona and return to their daily lives.
They then move on to other projects, but hardcore fans of their previous work continue to remain in that euphoria.
HBO TV series Game of Thrones has a similar story. Its actors have done such a convincing job with their roles that seeing them playing other characters seems strange. Down below are a collection of images that will provide a shock to your system and try to repaint the image you have in your mind of these personalities:
Tywin Lannister (Charles Dance)
Charles Dance, the super villain of the Game of Thrones series, showed a completely different side of his personality in the 2002 movie Ali G Indahouse. He truly justified his last name by doing this:
Sandor "The Hound" Clegane (Rory McCann)
Can you guess who that bald funny looking guy on the right is? Hint: he is one of the most dangerous men in the fictional world of Westeros.
When not wetting his sword with others' blood, he does this:
Eddard "Ned" Stark (Sean Bean)
The paramount of medieval manliness, Ned Stark was once photographed looking like this too:
Jorah Mormont (Iain Glenn)
The eternally friend-zoned advisor to Daenerys Targaryen...
Grand Maester Pycelle (Julian Glover)
Decades before becoming the bearded Pycelle, this guy was the Imperial General Maximilian Veers in Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back.
Viserys Targaryen (Harry Lloyd)
Behind those long blonde hair and cruel mind, there is actually a pretty brunette boy.
Gendry (Joe Dempsie)
Davos Seaworth (Liam Cunningham)
Pyat Pree (Ian Hanmore)
Ser Rodrik Cassel (Ron Donachie)
Walder Frey (David Bradley)
Jojen (Thomas Brodie-Sangster)
