Tom Hanks Crashes Julia Roberts’ Interview With Letterman

America’s definite sweetheart made a stop at the Late Show with David Letterman, and guess who dropped by for a surprise appearance at the show?? None other than the talented Tom Hanks, running on to the Letterman stage, asking: “Can I play, can I play?!?”

Hanks, who is a long time friend of Julia’s hung around to play a guessing game, with Letterman asking the questions. Letterman asked her questions about Hanks, and Hanks had the answers already written down on sheets in his lap. Except, well, the answers were not exactly something that Julia would have expected, and it had her in peals of laughter.

"How many children does Tom have?" Letterman asked. Julia's answer: "Four, as far as he knows." Tom's answer: "Honestly, no idea. Actually, she got that one the closest."

"Is any of this really going to get people to go see our movie?" she asked between laughter.

"Nobody does this show to get people to see their movie," Hanks quipped.

At which Julia grinned and tried to comfort Letterman with a pat.

Kind of makes you want to go see 'Larry Crowne,' doesn't it? Oh, that's the movie she was promoting. Didn't you get that? It stars the actor Tom Hanks thinks is the finest of his generation!
