Kate Beckinsale reprises her role as warrior vampire Selene in Underworld: Awakening, with the same bluish dark hue of its predecessors. The 4th installment sees that “It’s a new world,” and it sure looks that way. It is no longer about the Vampires vs. the Lycans: this time the humans are the predators and up to their experimental ways (as usual). Selene has been held captive for more than a decade (in screen time, as only Underworld Evolution came out just five years ago).
Micheal Corvin played by Scott Speedman in the first two parts of the Underworld franchise is M.I.A. though (we do not approve). Along with Selene, something else also managed to escape; now we wonder what Selene means by “whatever it is its more powerful than any of us”. Hm.
The movie is slated to release July 20, 2012, and stars Michael Sheen, Kate Beckinsale, Bill Nighy, Michael Ealy, India Eisley, Theo James. The film is directed by Måns Mårlind, Björn Stein. Len Wiseman has resigned.
