creative methods to sell books

If you were an author, what would you do to sell your book? With the publishing world becoming more and more competitive, you have to give these author's some credit for what they did to sell their books.

James Patterson wrote a book called, "Private Vegas", which will only be available to 1,000 readers, then will 'self-destruct' in 24 hours. If you can't read that fast, a hard-copy is also available for $300,000, which will get you a lot more than just an exploding book.

Haruki Murakami, a well-known Japanese author, put stickers in his book "Colorless Tsukuru Tazaki and His Years of Pilgrimage", so that you can spice up your copy of the book.

Jennifer Belle actually hired actors to laugh at a reading of her book in NYC subways, which brought a lot of attention to her book, "The Seven-Year Bitch."

Jonathan Franzen had a book which was released under the wrong file, with tons of typos and errors. People were allowed to exchange the book, "Freedom", for the correct copy.

Other authors have also used very creative methods to sell their books, and most of the time, it really worked!
