Shakira’s hips are telling the truth again and she’s sharing it with the world on the cover of the September 2013 issue of Self Magazine. Shakira is yet another celebrity to have a baby and then undergo an incredible weight loss shortly thereafter. So how did Shakira lose the baby weight? Below are a few tips from Shakira on her baby weight loss.
One of the keys in “snapping back in shape” after having a baby is being in good shape before you have one. Working out was part of Shakira’s lifestyle before she became pregnant. Because of that, she was able to work out throughout her pregnancy. Shakira’s first baby weight loss tip was doing Zumba for cardio. "That helped me not gain too much weight,” explained Shakira. As for Shakira’s famous rear, she did 30 reps of held pliés and glute squeezes. Shakira revealed she worked out 4-5 times per week.
Shakira’s next step in the baby weight loss journey was eating healthy and frequently, but with low calories. Shakira’s diet consisted of eight meals with 200-250 calories in each. According to Self Shakira ate foods with plenty of fiber, protein, calcium, iron, and fish oil.
While getting prepared on getting her body back to its former self, Shakira explained that she focused on seeing herself as a whole instead of picking out things she doesn’t like about her body. "I don't obsess over my flaws, because I see my body as a whole," Shakira said to Self, "Besides, I think men appreciate confidence more than perfection."
