Plan ahead

Like the saying goes, “if you fail to plan you plan to fail.” To prepare yourself for an event you have to plan ahead. Adriana Lima says that she begins working out about two months prior to the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. And three weeks before the show she works out twice a day. During the last V.S. Fashion Show Adriana had to lose over 40 lbs in less than two months. She described that as being the biggest challenge she’s ever had in her life.

Workout Everyday

Adriana Lima’s diet consists of daily exercise. She says that working out every day is essential to maintain your muscles.

Whenever, Where ever

Workout whenever you can and where ever you can. You may be thinking you do not have enough time to work out every day. But Adriana says that even working out just ten minutes is better than nothing!

Have a Partner

Working out with someone else can help motivate and encourage you to do the workouts and be consistent. In Adriana’s case, she has a trainer to help get her to the gym and keep her motivated.

Switch It Up

Do cardio and weights. Switching up what you do in your workouts will help prevent your body from getting used to the same things.

Find your Secret Weapon

Adriana’s secret weapon is jump roping. She loves to jump rope to help her burn calories. Find something that you think is fun and love to do, then your workouts won’t feel like work.

Give it Your All

No matter what you are doing, you should try to do your very best. So even if you are only going to work out for a short time, make it worth it and give it your all.

Nutrition

Watching what you eat is important because it helps you to be healthy; it also helps you look your best. Adriana suggests eating a lot of protein. She eats things such as egg whites, oatmeal, and tofu. She also loves berries that are packed with antioxidants.

Drink a lot of Water

Back in 2011 Adriana Lima took some criticism for how she chose to diet. She explained to the Daily Telegraph that she stops eating solid foods about 7 days before the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show and begins to drink a gallon of water every day. Many people felt that Adriana Lima’s diet was unhealthy and bad for young women to look up to. But she explained herself to E! News saying, "I know it's very intense but ... I just have an athlete's mind and I appreciate doing this thing," she said. "It's not that I do crazy diets throughout the year. I just do it for this particular thing. After this show, I become normal again."

Spend time with kids

In an interview for Victoria’s Secret swimwear, Adriana said that she spends a lot of time chasing her daughter around, which is good for burning some extra calories. If you do not have kids of your own to chase, babysit some one else’s!
