Astronaut Perfectly Nails The New Year's Resolution We All Need To Make

We know it's been a tough year – that's why we need this resolution so badly.

There's no getting around it: 2014 was a tough year. Wars raged, innocents were killed by the evil likes of ISIS and Boko Haram, tragic mysteries endured and unthinkable deaths made us all weep.

Astronaut Chris Hadfield wants us to pause for a moment, however, and remember just how lucky we are.

"Our world is not as bad a place as we often feel it to be. It is easy to look to the future and lament on how far there is left to go, but sometimes it is helpful to stop and reflect on just how far we've come," he says.

Hadfield has a point. Check out his video and remember all of the wondrous, life-affirming feats we've accomplished.

"When thinking if you're going to be optimistic this year, remember: Nobody changes the world on their own," Hadfield says. "It all starts with a resolution. What's yours?"
